6 Day Riot – Take Me
Take Me is a single from the reputable stable of 6 Day Riot, a band capable of dropping little drops of joy in less than 4 minutes as the dynamic and exciting track spins off to generate endless delight. This might be a little too much for some, but the razor sharp rhythms and crisp lyrics will have you dancing on your toes all night or humming to the washing up. This is the inevitable effect from the sublime mix of punk, folk and pop.
With the single released just over a week ago the video followed hot on its tail. The video is a dark little movie reflecting the personal turmoil of the lyrics. This is set in the aura of a horror film in full blue light as the moments might freak the lonely driver. Tammara Schelesinger’s face flickers in the light emphasising the sense of panic, snapping at the heels of the man running from something which is haunting him. This creates an eerie mood and makes her exploration of a reality not quite of this world all the more dangerous. This effect has been successful before; take Mary Clayton’s vocals on The Rolling Stones’ track Gimmie Shelter. This is a powerful and evocative video, full of ghostly magic for which will propel the music in to life. Still, the music is still strong enough to give a hammer blow on its own.
6 Day Riot are quite well established in themselves, they are on their second album and happily on tour at the moment. They have already played a host of gigs in many of the countries cities, but can still be seen in Guilford, Chelmsford, Brighton and Exeter.
