Leslie Nielsen & Irvin Kershner Farewell

We shouldn’t bring religion into it, but is there really a God when we lose both Irvin Kershner and Leslie Nielsen within a day of each other. Yes, surely we ARE serious!

Kershner of course famously directed the second instalment of the original Star Wars trilogy, The Empire Strikes Back. It is still hotly debated whether or not his effort out did the first among fans.

He also took on Bond movie Never Say Never Again, Robocop 2 and the John Carpenter penned The Eyes Of Laura Mars.

He passed away on 27th November 2010.

Nielsen is most fondly remembered as the king of the spoof genre, appearing in more spoof films than any other actor. For most the highlight of this was his first, Airplane! as well as the Naked Gun/Police Squad series that he fronted.

Nielsen also made appearances in very different genres in films like The Poseidon Adventure, Forbidden Planet, and Prom Night. He passed away on 28th November 2010.

Both are already missed.
