Turboweekend Throws Doors Open to 'Fan Made' Content

We’re very pleased to announce that Turboweekend are making all audio, video and artwork assets available for fans to play around with as of… now!

Fans can visit the ‘Fan Made’ section of Turboweekend.com (at link ) and download all the above from band’s ‘Bound EP’. They can then adapt, remix and play around with it in whatever way they like and re-upload them back to the same section of the site for other fans to check out.

On their new EP ”Bound” the trio have invited some prominent guest vocals, and now they are giving fans free reign to remix all tracks and redesign the artwork as they like!

During the last year Turboweekend have enjoyed a growing success with musical collaborations, being remixed by dutch mega DJ Tiësto and UK dubstep darling Joker, as well as co-writing and performing with a variety of danish acts. With their new EP ”Bound”, out on 12” vinyl and free download, they are throwing the doors wide open to fans everywhere.

All parts to the music – including contributions from Ty Bulmer of New Young Pony Club, Casper Clausen of Efterklang, and Coco Malaika of Quadron – are now available for free download from the bands website meaning that fans can remix the tracks and re-upload them for all other fans to hear. The best remixes will be made official. Additionally, fans can also visit the site and download the full artwork files to modify as they like too. You never know – the best artwork redesign that gets uploaded back to the official site could end up as a single cover!

All fans need to do is visit link and click on the ‘Fan Made’ button to access all of this and to see the work that other fans have done too.

This open attitude has been a part of the project from the beginning, when Turboweekend first decided to make the EP.

”We’ve done a lot of things to shake up the creative process on this new EP. The guests are one step in this direction and the cover song of Talking Heads is another. Splitting everything into atoms and giving it away to our fans is just the extreme consequence of this idea. And we’re very exited to see what they come up with.” Says lead singer Silas Bjerregaard.

The digital version of the EP contains 5 tracks and can be downloaded for free along with remix parts at link, where you can also order the 12” vinyl version containing a bonus cover version of the Talking Heads song ‘Heaven’.

”Bound” follows up on the bands sophomore album Ghost Of A Chance from 2009, which elevated the band into a new league and has turned out to be one of the most enduring danish releases in a long time with sales and radio airplay more than a year after it’s initial release. The bands incessant and highly praised touring activity has surely done a lot to boost the albums popularity. Their spring tour was sold out, and this summer they have appeared on numerous festivals including a headline at SPOT festival, and filled tents at both Roskilde Festival and Danmarks Smukkeste Festival.

The album has also opened doors outside of Denmark, and recently the group has signed with UK management Supervision, also responsible for major acts like Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs and Crystal Castles.

”It has been a fun and very interesting process, and we are bursting with ideas for our 3rd full length album, which he have already started writing and expect to have ready in early 2011.” says bass player Morten Koie.
