With anticipation building around the release of their epic third album, “Mine Is Yours”, early next year, COLD WAR KIDS have just announced news of a 4-date UK tour in February, including a performance at KOKO in London… Dates/info below…
Sunday 20 February – MANCHESTER – Academy 2 (£11.50)
Monday 21 February – GLASGOW – GARAGE (£12.50)
Tuesday 22 February – BIRMINGHAM – 02 Academy 2 (£11.50)
Wednesday 23 February – LONDON – KOKO (£14)
“Mine Is Yours” is released via Downtown Records / Cooperative Music on 24th January. The band enlisted Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Modest Mouse) to record and produce the eleven song collection over a period of three months in Nashville and Los Angeles. This is the band’s first full-length album since their Sept 2008 release, “Loyalty to Loyalty”. The band also released the critically acclaimed EP, “Behave Yourself”, in December 2009.
“Mine Is Yours” finds the band harnessing their idiosyncratic soul punk sound as it takes a massive leap forward in songwriting, sonics and execution. More intimate Cold War Kids previous releases, “Mine Is Yours” finds Nathan Willett at his most revealing and vulnerable: “These are portraits of relationships and commitment — what is holding these things together and what does it all mean?” the singer says. “A lot has happened in the last two years — long tours, marriage, relationships, people going in different directions. I felt the need to be more personal, to show the many sides of me.”
The result is Cold War Kids’ most fully-formed, honest, and passionate album to date — “Mine Is Yours.”
