Everything Everything will be live streaming their upcoming, sold out London Union Chapel show to iPhone users – also viewable for those with iPads – as the concert plays out on 15th December 2010.
The concert will be streamed in real time within an exclusive, official artist-branded app entitled 'Man Alive – Everything Everything: Live at Union Chapel'.
The app will be available to download for free to iPhone users on 1st December. For those without iPhones, a simultaneous stream of the concert will occur online – again for free – via an official website (URL to be announced shortly).
Ahead of the concert on the 15th, users that download the app from its launch date of the 1st onwards will also be able to access the following 'pre-gig' functions:
– a chance to win the last available pair of tickets to the sold out concert through a competition (with runners-up prizes including limited edition vinyl copies of the band's much-acclaimed debut LP, 'Man Alive');
– an opportunity to submit questions to the band – who will answer their favourite selection in a video interview posted a week before the performance occurs (8th December);
– a chat forum, where those attending can converse with fellow fans ahead of the show, or during the gig, or generally regarding anything else;
– links to the band's official sites and for purchasing recorded music.
Creating further incentive to download the app even after the event has been and gone, on the following evening after the big night (16th), an edit of the entire live show will be uploaded, along with a new post-gig interview with the band, and a commemorative video featuring reactions from the fans on the night.
All footage and content will remain in the event-specific app for three months, at which point it'll be removed and no longer available.
This design and app will incorporating brand-new technology never previously used before, with Everything Everything serving as the first live act as part of the project.
