Toy Story 3 Blu-Ray Review

It has taken it’s time to get here, but Toy Story 3 finally came this summer and made the biggest impact in terms of critical praise and financial profit of any film in 2010. Not bad going for a film that is the third part of a trilogy!

The rules for sequels are finally started to soften as far as critics go. The diminishing returns are starting to diminish themselves and studios are finally, yet slowly, starting to pull through with some quality. The Bourne Series managed it, and now the Toy Story saga comes full circle with an end that will leave you teary eyed and satisfied that the film makers have truly done their job.

So, third time out we find Woody and friends shipped off by accident to a day-care centre where their troubles begin. How did this come about? Well Andy is now entering his young adult life and is off to college. The toys it is decided (what is left of them) are off to the attic, but a slight mix-up sees them headed off to the aforementioned facility.

Once there they are greeted by toys already there in a friendly manner, but soon find that they have been relegated to the worst part of the building and are treated more like inmates of a prison than guests. From here you can guess that it all leads to an escape plan. All the while, Woody gets to muse on abandonment (again) and what it is to grow up and have to let go at the same time.

It’s all a grand adventure that has the double whammy climax of the all out action spectacle, that will push the limits of your emotions, and if that doesn’t have you in tears then the end of the film will, which wraps things up no neater than you could expect for this almost perfect trilogy of films.

The Blu-Ray includes a whole host of extras that goes behind the scenes of the making of this grand film. All presented in wonderful Blu-Ray glory and yes, you Blu-Ray buyers get treated to the “Double Play” edition with a DVD copy!
