Clinic – Bubblegum
Clinic return with their new single ‘Bubblegum’ on Monday the 31st of January 2011. The single, which was an immediate standout on Clinic’s recent, critically acclaimed album, ‘Bubblegum’, is a perfect example of the group’s move into brighter pop territories whilst still maintaining that slight devilish wink in their eye.
The single is released on 12” vinyl and digital formats, and is bolstered by a remix from Mark E on both formats.
The single’s accompanying animated video, directed by award winning directors Alistair & Jock, is a suitably trippy, day glo affair, featuring a bubblegum blowing cat in a baby doll dress as she floats through an hallucinogenic dreamworld. It really is as surreal as it sounds and you should check it out.
In more exciting news, to coincide with the release of ‘Bubblegum’, Clinic have gone and got themselves an iPad app all of their own. The iPad RJDJ Voyager Scene app, which essentially allows you to remix the single in real time, is available to download for free link here, and if you need some visual proof of how it works be sure to go link here.
