Rumer has announced details of her biggest headline tour to date for Spring 2011. She will play eleven shows across the UK through March and April. The tour will kick off at Bristol’s Colston Hall on March 21, take in London’s Royal Festival Hall on March 28, and conclude at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on April 3. Tickets will go on general sale at 9am on Friday November 3. All existing UK shows in December and January, including London’s Shepherds Bush Empire, are now sold-out.
Rumer’s 2011 tour-dates will see her showcase her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Seasons Of My Soul’. The record has seen her crowned the fastest-selling new female artist of 2010, having shifted over 100,000 copies since its November 1 release. Following a special, one-off collaboration with Burt Bacharach – ‘Rumer Sings Bacharach At Christmas’, due December 13 – the Anglo-Pakistani singer and songwriter will commence the new year with her next single, ‘Am I Forgiven’ (January 24).
The last year has seen Rumer build up a significant live reputation: she made her debut performance at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre, before playing a beautiful set at London’s Tabernacle on the week of her album release.
Having supported the likes of Jools Holland nationwide and dueted with Elton John and Leon Russell at the BBC Electric Proms, Rumer also played London’s Union Chapel as part of Mencap’s Little Noise Sessions. Now, following a run of sell-out solo shows, the Spring dates are a further opportunity to hear her stunning songs live.
