Beruit, Elbow and Tinie Tempah For Benicassim

Beirut, Elbow, Friendly Fires and Tinie Tempah are the latest confirmations of FIB 2011’s Lineup with already confirmed bands Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Portishead, The Strokes and Primal Scream.

FIB 2011 will take place in Benicassim’s concert venue from July 14th-17th.

Two albums – and quite a few EP’s – published up to date, ‘Gulag Orkestar’ (2006) and ‘The Flying Club Cup’ (2007) have led the incomparable Zach Condon and his band, Beirut, to reach great heights. In 2009 they edited a double EP titled ‘March of the Zapotec/And Realpeople Holland’. From Albuquerque, USA, they’ll be bringing their great school pop with an eastern European tint.

Elbow, the quintet from Manchester led by singer and composer Guy Garvey, published their first album, ‘Asleep in the Black’ (2001), already showing the great potential the band would have composing delicate pop songs.
Recognition from critics and public was unanimous. In 2003 ‘Cast of Thousands’ followed their acclaimed first album. The next albums that followed ‘Leader of the Free World’ (2005), and specially, ‘The Seldom seen Kid’ (2008), placed the band as one of the most consolidated bands in the UK. They’ll be back in FIB with the new album they’ll be publishing at the beginning of 2011.

British band Friendly Fires mix with a great class and grace pop and dance music. Their debut album, ‘Friendly Fires’ (2008) placed them as the head of the misjudged bands that bet on mixing different styles.

Tinie Tempah is a 22 year old Nigerian MC based in London that has reached success with his explosive introduction after having placed two singles ‘Pass Out’ and ‘Written in the Stars’ among the first hits in British “number one” charts. ‘Frisky’ and ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’ have also ranked among the top five and his debut album, ‘Disc-Overy’ (2010) has ranked number one this year.
