Heavenly Recordings start the year by showcasing some of the label’s newest signings, with Sea Of Bees taking to the road with label mates Trevor Moss & Hannah – Lou and James Walbourne in support. All three artists have been tipped for great things in 2011 so this is a unique opportunity to catch them on tour together in February, and should prove to be an un-missable evening of emerging talent.
Sea Of Bees has already been championed by Rough Trade Shops as one of the female voices of 2010 and her debut album, ‘Song For The Ravens’, released on February 7th, was recently made their ‘Album of the Month’ for December. A singer-song writer and multi-instrumentalist from Sacramento, Sea Of Bees possesses a truly unique, alien voice and her brand of off-kilter freak-folk is vital and captivating, and is utterly spellbinding when performing live.
Having been described by the Guardian as “Reminiscent of early 60s folk rock bands such as Fairport Convention and Dylan in his more reflective moments,” Trevor & Hannah – Lou’s quintessentially English brand of folk will be the perfect warm-up to Sea Of Bees. With a new album to be released in the spring there is understandably a huge amount of interest in this husband and wife duo.
James Walbourne has already notched up a musical career to inspire envy, having worked with the formidable likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Edwyn Collins, Saint Etienne and Shane MacGowan, and touring and recording with The Pretenders, he is now set to release his debut album titled ‘The Hill’ in January.
