Cheeky Cheeky

It’s not just the average person being touched by the recession and the VAT increase it seems. Cheeky Girl, Gabriela Irimia, was caught shoplifting from Sainsbury’s in Wilmslow, Cheshire at the weekend. It only specifies that she was attempting to steal groceries but I, for one, would love to know the details. What exactly was she trying to pinch? The general consensus in the office today is that it was something random like tights, batteries and maybe a grapefruit.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At just before 2pm on Friday, January 7, Cheshire Police were called to a supermarket on Alderley Road, Wilmslow after a 26-year-old woman from Essex was detained on suspicion of theft of grocery items. The woman was interviewed by police as part of the investigation into the circumstances of the incident and subsequently given a caution for theft.”

The Essex based singer had four top ten hits with her sister between 2002 and 2004. If you can name more than their debut single, “Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)”, without looking it up you clearly need to listen to better music… (it’s ok you’re in the right place, we can help!) She was also engaged to jungle mate, Lembit Opik, back in 2008 but that relationship ended shortly after it started.

Poor Gabriela, it must be hard seeing your ex-fiancé splashed all over the TV just before Christmas with his new bit of stuff that is considerably younger and, some might say, more glamourous, than her. Maybe it was the straw that broke the camel’s back and she turned to a life of petty crime as a result? (This is just the back story in my head.)

Anyway, in completely unrelated news we have loads and loads of exciting things on the site this week. We have interviews with Wheels, RJ Thompson and Sound Of Guns. On top of this we have awesome new videos from JLS and Tinie Tempah, Wolf Gang and The Lionheart Brothers plus a live performance from Avril Lavigne. You still have the chance to win an LTD watch and Jimi Hendrix and Tim Minchin DVDs. As if all this wasn’t enough Janiece Myers, Don Broco, Judy Collins and Let Loose all hit the road.
