Ben Ottewell Releases Lightbulbs

Ben Ottewell, the man behind the distinctive voice of UK, Mercury award winning band Gomez is releasing his debut solo single on 31st January. ‘Lightbulbs’ is the first single to be lifted from his forthcoming album ‘Shapes and Shadows’ due for release on 7th February via Eat Sleep Records.

Over the years Ottewell has played a multitude of solo shows. His stellar performance this past summer at The End of the Road Festival was a highlight, whilst many sold-out shows in London and Brighton confirms his status as one of the UK’s most precious, and adored, song-writers.

‘Lightbulbs’ is a stripped down, delicate and heart-warming piece of song writing from the man that voiced many beloved household songs such as ‘Tijuana Lady’, ‘Revolutionary Kind’ and ‘How We Operate’. A simple, folk inspired track that encompasses the finer elements of Ottewell’s song- writing. It’s a distinct departure from the sound that shaped Gomez over the past decade with a refined simplicity that further credits Ottewell as one of the UK’s finest songsmiths.
