Lykke Li (AKA Lykke Li Zachrisson) today announces details of her new single “I Follow Rivers” from her highly anticipated second album Wounded Rhymes.
“I Follow Rivers” will be released on February 14th and provides a stark contrast to the first single from the album “Get Some”. Whilst ‘Get Some’ deals with themes like empowerment and role play, “I Follow Rivers” deals with another tug of war; the powerful force called love and its obsession. A dark, destructive one, stronger then any river, any drug. It haunts you, leaves you, begging for more…
“Oh I beg you: can I follow? Oh I ask you: why not always? Be the ocean, where I unravel. Be my only, be the water.”
Like “Get Some”, the track recently stormed blogs reaching no. 1 on the hypemachine global chart in a matter of hours.
Available to purchase on 7” vinyl and digitally, the single features remixes by Dave Sitek (Producer du jour and TV on the Radio band member) and Van Rivers and Subliminal Kid (who works with Fever Ray). A remix from Magician (formerly from cosmic disco duo Aeroplane) is currently riding high in global blog charts.
Ahead of her April UK tour, Lykke will be performing a unique one off live show day of album release (Feb 28th) at Rough Trade East. This will be the only live performance until her headline tour so it’s definitely not to be missed.
Lykke Li’s new album Wounded Rhymes is set for release on Feb 28th through LL Recordings/ Atlantic Records.
