Becoming a Jackal, Villagers stunning debut single, will now be re-released on 28th February. Taken from their Mercury nominated debut album of the same name, Becoming a Jackal is an infectious, heart-wrenching, melodic piece, full of lyrical finesse. You can watch Conor J. O’Brien’s standout performance of the track at last year’s Mercury’s here: link. The album is also currently shortlisted for Ireland’s Choice Music Prize.
On 16th February Villagers will be performing a special intimate solo show at the Q Music Club in East London’s newest venue Concrete (Shoreditch High Street) Tickets are available for free from link. Villagers have also just been confirmed as special guests to Elbow on their upcoming arena tour throughout March. The band will then headline the Uncut stage at the Pavilion Theatre during the Great Escape in Brighton on May 13th. Villagers full UK and Irish dates are as follows:
