2011 so far has brought us some very sad news with the passing of some great contributors to the world of film. That sad news continues with the passing of composer John Barry.
A favourite with the Filmwerk – exemplified in our Bond retrospective – John Barry was responsible for 11 of the 22 bond scores. Beyond that he also brought as music for The Ipcress File, Dances With Wolves, Out Of Africa, Chaplin… The list goes on, and many of these he has be awarded for.
It is a sad to see such an accomplished artist go, but his extensive work in music and film will live on. We all my go, but for Barry’s music – we have all the time in the world.
