Cassette Jam Announce New Single

Cassette Jam dropped their eponymous debut album last summer to widespread acclaim from the likes of Mixmag, NME (video world exclusive), Radio 1, XFM, DJ and IDJ. The accompanying live tour took them across the UK and Europe, including incendiary shows at the Warehouse Project, O2 Liverpool, Pacha Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks, Club NME, Fabric, Gatecrasher, and support slots for Plan B and Dizzee Rascal.

The long hours on the road, late nights, and hotel clean-up bills have been worth it, brandishing a newly acquired reputation as one of Britain’s hottest live dance outfits they’re set to take 2011 by storm.

Ahead of a spring tour and summer festival announcements, Cassette Jam have been chosen to perform as part of HMV’s Next Big Thing festival, playing alongside the Japanese Popstars and Kid Adrift at London’s Barfly Camden on 8 February. The gig will be their first appearance in the capital since Club NME in November.

Following soon after is the release of their next single, ‘Never Going Home’, released in March on Pieces Of Eight Records. One of the standout tracks from the album, ‘Never Going Home’, has been re-edited for the single package. Violently anthemic, the track is an electrifying rave-up worthy of a new decade – young, raw and as noisy as it should be.

Remixes come from Audiojack, a new disco rerub from the boys themselves and Filthy Dukes’ Mark Ralph, plus further mixes from Eskimo Twins and The Rogue Element.

‘Cassette Jam’ was co-produced by the Filthy Dukes’ Mark Ralph, and features collaborations with the Filthy Dukes, Caged Baby, Sunshine Underground and Lego Johnson. Mixed on German maestro Conny Plank’s old mixing desk (the same desk on which Kraftwerk mixed their legendary track, ‘Autobahn’), Will and Rory indulged their synth addiction via a plethora of old school tech’, including a Korg MS20, Moog Voyager, Roland SH101, Juno 60 and more. The result was a debut worthy of the stadium rave greats whose footsteps they follow in.
