So out of the main set of awards there seems to be ZERO surprises! The BAFTAS predictably went all BRIT on us for another year and awarded The Kings Speech with the majority. To be fair it probably deserved best British Film (but best film over-all???). Firth is the man who deserved what he got. The others are debatable. Natalie Portman got her leading actress award and Inception was largely shunned (oh it did get that effects one though!)

It was nice to see True Grit get the cinematography as it is a beautiful film. The Social network also managed to grab screenplay and Director which if it was going to win anything – it was going to be these awards. Shows what Fincher can win when he shows a little restraint.

So by and large we are not surprised, nor are we happy with the Brits elitist behaviour!
