I was going to write a big lovey dovey editorial about how yesterday was Valentine’s Day and blah blah blah mushy stuff. But I thought better of it and decided I’d write about something a lot more exciting instead.
The Brit Awards are tonight and it’s where we present the crème de la crème of British music to the rest of the world. Take That are kicking off proceedings and James Cordan is presenting the whole shin dig. They have turned the whole thing around and it is less about the personalities and more about the music this year. It looks like it isn’t going to be the ever annoying James Cordan show after all. *Fingers crossed!*
Jessie J has already been announced as the winner of the Critics’ Choice award. With Ellie Goulding winning last year and Florence And The Machine and Adele being previous winners it’s a girl’s world it seems.
I’m always intrigued by the winners of the Brits as they tend to skate a very fine line between pop prowess and critical acclaim. I know what I’ll be doing tonight anyway – sofa, brew and The Brits.
If you need something to keep you entertained until then there’s loads of brilliant stuff on the site this week… we have interviews with Yoav, Little Comets, Mike Marlin and Kyla La Grange. We have videos from Funeral For A Friend, Tom Williams And The Boat and N-Dubz, plus a behind the scenes peek at Brother’s new video. We also have competitions to win tickets to see UNKLE, Kele at Chibuku and Roundhouse Rising. If all that wasn’t enough Harry’s Gym, Mike Dignam, Don Broco and Judy Collins are all on tour.
