This Valentine’s Day RSS are providing the soundtrack to a night of bass, bump & grind with the multi-headed collective’s massive debut EP Wife Her Up / Rude. A speaker rattling, party starting mix of sub bass and skipping beats topped off by Matic’s MC’ing, this is the real sound of the UK, that mash up of cultures and noise that comes alive on Saturday nights beyond the chain bar hell of our city centres.
A musical bit of this and a bit of that, RSS represents the melting pot of music heard on the streets today, booming out of cars, bedsit windows and mobile phones; this is music a million miles away from the jangling indie world of the mainstream media.
Navigating the cutting edge of the dance underground RSS are bringing it back to the indie nation like the Roses and the Mondays once did with acid house and The Specials did with Ska.
Alongside the two original tracks the EP also includes remixes from three of the most exciting producers in the UK today. Veteran producer Distinction turns in a classic slice of half time dubstep whilst rising stars J Sparrow and Jamie Grind’s remixes draw upon the funky and are guaranteed to light a fire under any discerning dance floor.
