London four-piece, Turbogeist, have been forced to push their single release date back to 21st March as a result of surgery undergone to Jimmy’s shoulder in recent weeks.
The injury has not been healing as well as it should and surgeons have told Jimmy to rest for an extra few weeks. He had been told by doctor’s that he would be able to play guitar within a few weeks of the surgery but this has not been the case. The bands headline show at the Old Blue Last has now been cancelled. Details on a re-scheduled show will be released soon.
The band has also just announced that they will be supporting LCD Soundsystem in Sao Paolo, Brazil, on 18th February with Jimmy solely on vocal duties and a stand in guitarist.
The band – completed by vocalist/guitarist Jimmy Jagger, guitarist Luis Felber, bassist James Dunson and drummer Josh Ludlow – have been playing together for over a year and making waves on the London warehouse party scene. They have recently played with Trash Talk, Warpaint, Japanese Voyeurs, The Computers as well as having completed a 26-date North American tour in October and a performance at CMJ in New York.
‘Alien Girl’ / ‘Rats’ is the bands first release. The single is a romping throwback to the 80’s punk sound of The Misfits and The Replacements. Its youthful vitriol blends perfectly with the bands relentless, driving riffs to create a sound that’s all theirs.
