Ivyrise release their soaring hook-laden debut single 'Line Up The Stars' on 21st March on My Major Company, an innovative new record label that opened its doors in October 2010. The band took just four days to raise the necessary £100,000 required to become My Major Company's first fully funded UK act.
Ivyrise, who have built an incredible fan base, release the single on the back of a headline UK Tour which culminates in a SOLD OUT show at London's Islington Academy on 29th January. The band will then be shooting off to Texas to record their debut album with esteemed producer Jason Perry (Kids in Glass Houses, McFly), due for release this summer.
Prior to signing with MMC, Ivyrise self funded two releases that went into the BBC Radio 1 Independent chart at numbers 6 and 2 consecutively and won a stadium support slot with Bon Jovi at Twickenham – quite an achievement for an unsigned act.
It is MMC's unique model that makes them the perfect label for a hardworking act like Ivyrise, front man Ben Falinski elaborates; “In 2011, being in the music business is no easy ride. We believe it's all about the fans, and should always be about the fans. Our decision to sign with MMC UK was for that very reason. We felt that in a world where people are becoming disillusioned with having music forced upon them, having the financial and emotional support of music fans before our album is released would give some power back to the people who matter the most. It's the fans who decided Ivyrise deserve a shot. We intend on taking our chance and we are excited to be at the forefront of what should be a revolution in the way music is marketed in the U.K.”
Having proved that the model really works – French MMC artist Gregoire has achieved a number one single and a number one album that has sold in excess of 1 million records – MMC hope to mirror this success in the UK.
Ivyrise are Ben Falinski (vocals / keys), Dan Tanner (guitar / vocals), Mark Nagle (Bass) and Josh Key (drums).
