Since its release in 2009 The Airborne Toxic Event, the band's self-titled debut album, has sold over 300,000 copies. Monday 25th April 2011 sees the worldwide premiere release on Mercury Records of All At Once, the follow-up album (produced by Dave Sardy, credits: Oasis, Band of Horses, the Ting Tings, the Walkmen).
The first UK single from All At Once is entitled Numb and The Airborne Toxic Event are set to release this, their first new single in exactly two years. The track goes to national UK radio tonight (Thurs 10th Feb). With a simultaneous twin campaign in the US debuting the single Changing.
The 11 tracks from the album will be revealed exclusively online. A unique acoustic video version of every track on the album, entitled The Bombastic will be showcased in the eleven weeks leading up to the album release, starting with the title track All At Once. Each video is one take, one shot and completely live. Each Bombastic will be shown every Tuesday on the band’s website link starting Tuesday 15th February 2011.
The unprecedented Six Nation Pan European Residency Tour is currently under way. During February The Airborne Toxic Event are performing in six different countries, with three simultaneous residencies in Holland, Germany and France (while also touring extensively elsewhere in Europe and the UK during the month). This tour was conceived from the tremendously popular and successful 30 shows in 30 nights Tour that the band played in the UK throughout November 2008
And so to the album release – TATE are certainly no strangers to grand musical gestures and with a reputation as an aggressive touring band; playing over 350 shows for their debut release. In an attempt to retell the story of the band’s growth both here in the UK and across the Atlantic, The Airborne Toxic Event will be playing 5 consecutive nights in each of the 3 cities that first welcomed them; London, Los Angeles and then New York.
Starting with the smallest venue they played in the LDN / LA / NY trifecta, the band will work their way through the cities’ venues, replaying the same clubs they played throughout their meteoric rise. So in London:
