The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess and Mark Collins Announce Details of UK Acoustic Tour

The Charlatans vocalist Tim Burgess and guitarist Mark Collins are set to embark on a series of intimate live shows across the UK starting on March 8th in Wrexham. The shows will see the prolific songwriters performing acoustic and reworked versions of songs from a back catalogue spanning over 20 years. The pair first played the new set at a small show in Manchester last year and had such an overwhelmingly positive reaction they decided to take it out on the road.

The dates are:

March –

9th – Blackburn, Live Lounge (£16)
10th – Newcastle, Riverside (£16)
11th – Leeds, Brudenell Social Club (£16)
12th – Stockton, Georgian Theatre (£16)
13th – Manchester, Deaf Institute (£16)
14th – Stoke On Trent, The Underground (£15)
16th – London, Union Chapel (£17.50)*
17th – Brighton, Komedia (TBC)
21st – Glasgow, Oran Mor (£12.50)

Support to be announced. *Tickets are available from link

To coincide with the tour the band are releasing an EP of six stripped-down and reworked versions of Charlatans classics including “North Country Boy”, “Only One I Know” and “Smash The System” from their current album. Both sophisticated and refined, the band has found inspiration in folky Byrds-esque harmonies and Johnny Cash style rockabilly. It will be available to download from iTunes and their website (link) from mid-March, with a limited edition 10” vinyl to follow.
