Alexandra Legouix & The Sunflowers – Facebook

Winning BBC Introducing in January 2010 helped launch Alexandra Legouix and the Sunflowers into the limelight and provided them with new and exciting opportunities landing new gigs as a result and developing a bigger and more loyal fan base, as well as air play in Canada, Australia and America. As a result of winning the competition, AL & The Sunflowers were asked to go in to the BBC Berkshire radio station for an interview and to perform two tracks live. They then went on to perform on the main stage at the Inside: Outside Festival in Reading and headlined both the Wokingham Food and Drinks Festival 2010 and Vivacity Festival.

As well as support from the BBC, they have received much press attention and recently have had featured articles in a number of local and national newspapers. They have been headline and support acts at many top venues including: The Troubadour, The Bedford, Monto Water Rats to name a small few. In 2010, they released their EP 'FACEBOOK' on to iTunes and all other leading online distributors and they are now pleased to announce the release of much anticipated EP ‘Let’s Go’

The BBC Introducing accolade provoked more interest from industry majors. Award winning production and writing team, Red Rhythm – who have worked with artists like Ashanti, Aaliyah, Sting, Liberty X, Run DMC, Sean Paul, Leona Lewis, and are currently in collaboration with Pussycat Dolls own and ‘Got to Dance’ judge, Kimberly Wyatt – are keen to get Alexandra into the studio to write new tracks and have shown a massive support for her and her future career. Alexandra features on their recent release “Rocket” by the legendary DJ Nero – set to be a summer smash this year in Ibiza and the band currently sit at number one in the Indie Charts Latin section.

They have now been asked into another BBC station – BBC Three Counties for an interview and live session; they will soon be appearing on Bucks TV; and Alexandra Legouix the lead vocalist has been asked to do a celebrity climb up Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2011 with some well known names including top model Caprice.

Meanwhile, Alexandra continues to write and perform with her fantastic guitarist and writing partner, Marlow-based musician Martyn “martynero” Ellis. They formed The Sunflowers to perform their songs live and will continue to test out their new material around London and the South East.

Alexandra Legouix & The Sunflowers release their hotly anticipated single 'Facebook’ in March.

The single is a radio friendly, funky track talking of the dangers to relationships that Facebook presents.
