Tatton Park Picnic Concerts Return

Tatton Park is proud to announce the return of its renowned Picnic Concerts in 2011 for what will be one of the most magical weekends of the summer season. The Halle Fireworks and Light Spectacular will celebrate its 20th year, starring special guest Lesley Garrett on Saturday 30 July while international superstar Tom Jones will put on a show-stopping concert on Sunday 31 July, in association with Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Held in the picturesque grounds of the historic estate, the Tatton Park Picnic Concerts are a true highlight of the North West’s summer calendar. The event celebrates the wonderful British tradition of the picnic as ten thousand concertgoers enjoy scrumptious picnics in the spectacular surrounds before experiencing world-class music and breathtaking firework displays.

The Hallé Fireworks and Light Spectacular is set to be an unforgettable evening on Saturday 30 July. Returning to the stunning lakeside setting for their 20th year, the world-class Halle Orchestra, conducted by Philip Ellis on the night, will play a melody of opera’s most dramatic master-pieces, joined by Britain’s most popular Soprano, Lesley Garrett. With eleven solo CDs to her credit, a plethora of awards and a CBE for her Services to Music, Lesley Garrett has won both critical acclaim and the affection of fans and music lovers nationally and abroad. This enchanting evening will crescendo with the awe-inspiring fireworks finale, as each impressive explosion is timed perfectly to accompany classical music’s most dramatic compositions. This is one incredible summer experience not to be missed.

Legend, national treasure and international superstar, Tom Jones, will set Tatton Park alight when he performs a special concert on Sunday 31 July. Treating guests to his greatest hits and undeniable charisma, Tom will showcase the distinctive talent that has seen him sell over 100 million records worldwide. This outstanding evening is in association with Francis House Children’s Hospice, with a portion of proceeds raised on the night going towards care for children and young adults with life threatening conditions from all over the North West.

Tatton Park is managed and financed by Cheshire East Council on behalf of the National Trust.

This impressive historic estate receives in the region of 750,000 visitors every year all of whom come to enjoy its Georgian Mansion, Tudor Old Hall, award winning Gardens and 1930s rare breeds farm. The 1,000 acre deer park is home to Red and Fallow deer and theestate also boasts speciality shops, adventure playground, restaurant and year-round events programme.
