U2 Plot “”Futuristic”” Direction For New Record

Producer of the forthcoming U2 album RedOne has given Billboard a small amount of insight into what we might expect from the new U2 release.

“They're always experimenting, so it's not like, 'OK, we're finished.' It's still an ongoing processed. Bono described [the album as] futuristic'. U2 going sci-fi, or something.

“We've put down a few ideas, but we don't know how many will end up on there.”

Working with RedOne in itself provides a change in direction for U2 – the producer having recently worked with Lady Gaga. The band's management have confirmed a late-spring release for the record.
