Twitter was a-buzz yesterday after rumours surfaces that The Stone Roses were to reform, 15 years after Ian Brown walked out of the band in 1996.
However, former bassist Mani has quashed these rumours, telling the NME: “I'm disgusted that my personal grief has been invaded and hijacked by these nonsensical stories.
“Two old friends meeting up after 15 years to pay their respects to my mother does not constitute the reformation of The Stone Roses.”
Brown and guitarist John Squire had set aside their differences to attend the funeral of Mani's mother – and he was understandably angry at the conclusions that were leapt to. He added: “Please f**k off and leave it alone. It isn't true and isn't happening.”.
