Reports: Coldplay Asked To Open 2012 Olympics

Reports this morning are suggesting that 2012 organisers have asked Coldplay to create a song especially for the event, and perform it during the opening ceremony.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “Chris [Martin] is at the top of the list to front the official record.

“Coldplay are the biggest stadium rockers in Britain today and their style of anthemic music would be perfect for the Olympics. It needs to be something inspirational.”

Other acts rumoured for the opening ceremony, curated by Danny Boyle, include Muse, Damon Albarn & Joss Stone.
