Romeo Must Die - Hardships In Season
Album Review

Romeo Must Die – Hardships In Season

After 18-months of hard work and horrific accidents, Romeo Must Die release their slaughter of a debut album Hardship in Season. Their combinations of metal and post hard-core elements work perfectly.

Opener “Hardship in Season” surprises you greatly with it being an acoustic track; almost making you doubt you’ve put the right CD on. It then explodes into the second track “Let Them Hate” in true Romeo Must Die style with thrashing drumbeats and riffing guitars; where Adam Frakes-Sime injects his deep and over powering vocals with so much anger.

The build up at the beginning of “15 Minutes of Shame” echoes your heartbeat as you eagerly wait to see which direction the song is going to take. It doesn’t disappoint. The intensity felt from this track is huge, and at a remarkable five minutes long, it captures the energy you can expect to see from a live show, with thundering vocals and a hard-hitting bass line.

Hear Frakes-Sime spit out his vocal parts in “All Life Ends in Failure” and it’s definitely one to mosh to as the heavy guitar riff hammers into your brain.

The last track, “New Beginning” opens with an eerie echo of a young girl’s voice that makes quite an impact against the acoustic sound; the album simply finishes where it started.

Hardship in Season is heavily packed full of stomping power that would succeed the requirements of any metal fan.
