Those in the Wickerman team have unveiled more of their festival line-up for this year. The Bass Camp Dance Village will be having two tents for their booked acts to set ablaze with their talent. Some are well known for their magnificence, others will be making their debut. Either way, they probably will not warp like some uncared for record.
The flag bearers will be break-beat champion Krafty Cuts, who has sent crowds into space before, and Utah Saints from Leeds who is unmistakably one of the best and longer lasting outfits out there. Along with skills from the underground in the form of Mike Hulme shows they are not just relying on the musicians you will find in the HMV CD rack. This is just the Em-It tent.
In the Skiddle Tent, there is an equal amount of talent with Riva Starr and X-Press2 making sure the memories will be full of elation. Some of the winners in the field of djing will be ensuring the dance floor is well populated too. Dan O’Donnell will be taking care of proceedings with his internationally renowned talent.
The added bonus will be the new talents snapping at the heels of the bigger names. The established acts will have to be at their best and on their toes to make sure they are not out shone. This is something which will only improve the experience for those who will descend on the bass village like bees to pollen.
However, there is a unique way in which The Wickerman Festival will be celebrating their two tents being open. Members of the crowd will be asked to vote for their favourite tracks and from there, Sonny Wharton will be mixing them. Sonny’s revered talent will be well placed to use the three deck set-up he uses some of the best clubs in the world.
With little competition between this and other festivals and you will certainly not be left short of a good time. Also, this is an opportunity to check out “an incredible line up of new talent and returning favourites”. This is not just the view of the organisers as well, Simon Jackson who says: “it looks like the best line-up to date.”
There is little doubt that the Dumfriesshire countryside will be shaking to the sound of seminal bass and serotonin producing treble in a way which has never been experienced before. Although, if dance is not your thing, then do not worry. One of the best things about festivals is that there is real and genuine variety and nothing could be truer for Wickerman. What is more is that you will enjoy the unique experience and atmosphere which will be heightened in its tenth year.
Of course there is the usual information to go with too. Tickets for the weekend will be £90 (adult), but more information can be sought through the official website link
