Plan B Gets Narky At US Music Industry

East London rapper-turned-singer Plan B unleashed a pretty intriguing deformation of the US music industry at yesterday's Ivor Novello awards (19th May 2011).

Plan B – real name Ben Drew – is quoted by metro.co.uk as saying: “It just seems to be a lot of c***sucking that has to go on in order to get your music to get played to the masses and I’m just not prepared to suck c*** really.

“I’m too white for the black radio stations and I’m too black for white radio stations so nobody knows where to place me.”

He did, however, have some nice things to say about the Ivor Novello awards, with the 27 year old going on to say: “All the other award ceremonies are about who sold the most records or being the “It” boy or girl of the year. This is about who wrote the best song and it means more to me than the other things.”.

Plan B was the big winner at the 2011 Ivor Novello awards, bagging three awards.
