Introducing: The Rosie Taylor Project

Leeds group The Rosie Taylor Project began squashed tightly in a small living room – however they weren't there for long. After just a handful of gigs, they were quickly snapped up by Bad Sneakers Records.

A debut single followed, entitled “Black and White Films”, which was featured on MTV2, 6 Music, XFM and KCRW in the US. Live shows continued; this time alongside names such as Camera Obsccura, Midlake, Jens Lekman and Jeffrey Lewis.

A debut album was recorded in Richard Formby's (Wild Beasts) attic studio, and went down so well in the blogosphere that the group went back to record a second. It's from that second album – entitled Twin Beds – that the single (above) “Sleep” is taken from. It's due for a June 13th release.

The group are to play a headline show at the Lexington, Islington on June 14th to celebrate. Hurrah.
