Evaline – Woven Material

Successfully turning industry heads and securing impressive support slots for the likes of Bon Jovi at Hard Rock Calling (25th June) and My Chemical Romance at iTunes Festival (9th July), alt-rockers Evaline are on the road to breaking it over here.

Formed in 2003, official band members of California’s newest musical export are: Dominic DiCiano (guitar), Christian Lewis (guitar), Richard Perry, (vocals, keys), Steven Pedersen (bass) and brothers Greg (drums) and Dan Petersen (guitar). As luck would have it, their big break transpired when their demo got passed into the hands of The Used’s guitarist Quinn Allman. He got in touch with the group and the rest is history. Evaline have announced UK and Europe tour dates that will coincide with the release of their 12-track debut album.

‘Woven Material’ marks a new era for the band, as they reach a new level of mainstream success. On listening to the album, the level of musicianship on the LP is infinitely high. The production is faultless and polished. Sonically, this leaves them with a cleaner, more radio-friendly sound than most of their alt-rock counterparts. Perry’s vocal delivery is heavily-laden with emotion and combined with maelstroms of instrumental crescendos, you hear notable epic-scale tracks like Beneath The Fire, Feeding On The Congregations, Rapture and All In My Mind.

Slower than most of the tracks on the album, Who Are You, Equally and Overwhelming Shapes are among the best on the record. Listen to the sexiness exude!

Saying that, rousing anthem There There and Ascend gives us plenty of mosh-pit action, for those of us that just want to rock out!
