Nick Lowe To End Long Wait For New Album

Nick Lowe is to release his first new studio album in over four years entitled The Old Magic on September 12th through Proper Records, it has been announced.

Recorded in London with Lowe's crack backing band, it also features the likes of Ron Sexsmith, Paul Carrack and Jimmie Vaughan.

Lowe – as the New York Times puts it – was extremely busy in his 20's spending time 'not fitting into three successive movements: pub rock, punk and new wave'. His new album sounds like he's just not done making good music, with National Public Radio in the US commenting that 'few musicians get better with age. Nick Lowe is an exception'.

Nick Lowe's last album – 2007's At My Age – was widely acclaimed and since then his long-unavailable first two albums Jesus of Cool and Labour of Lust have been rereleased.
