Scottish rock band Rockburn will release a brand new single ‘Finkin’ in Sept. The unsigned band are gaining plaudits each week and ‘Finkin’ promises to keep their star rising this autumn.
Rockburn was born out of the frustration of seeing a lack of bands having the balls to play 'all out' Rock N' Roll. Described as having a foundation of booming, bluesy beats and punchy, rhythmic bass, combined with monstrous guitar riffs and raspy vocals, the band writes hard hitting, catchy rock n roll songs.
The band from Bellshill, Scotland, has a line up which includes Stephen Baxter (vocals), Gary Dudgeon (guitars), Chris Rodgers (bass) and Christo Lambrou (drums).
As well as playing festivals across the country, Rockurn have supported larger acts including Wishbone Ash and The Drellas (featuring ex-Space front man Tommy Scott).
Rockburn have been able to build up a dedicated fan base across the UK and even in America, which has seen them being invited to play in some of the most iconic venues in the UK including the prestigious Cavern Club in Liverpool, the world famous Glasgow Barrowlands, and headline slots at a sold out King Tut’s.
Recently the band has been starting to receive a lot of radio air-play throughout the country and the response has even seen them win Rock Radio's (96.3FM) future classics, which they won with 91% of the vote.
In 2008/ 2009 the band was invited by Liverpool Football Club to have 'Red Dress' used as the half time music at games and more recently 'Night on Fire' has been chosen by Celtic Football Club to be played at home games at Parkhead. Their song 'Red Dress' was also recently chosen as a soundtrack to top US TV show Burn Notice, which was broadcast worldwide.
