As you all know, Amy Winehouse was found dead at her north London home on Saturday, July 23rd after a suspected overdose.
I've hardly been the biggest defender of Amy Winehouse during her career – her private life was described by the BBC's David Sillito as 'something of a mess' – and her problems with drugs were allowed to overshadow her immense musical talent.
I've been thinking all weekend about what there could possibly be to write about on this subject that hasn't been written already, and have come to decide that there isn't anything. When someone throws something like the amount of talent that Winehouse possessed away, you just can't help but think 'what a waste'.
My sincere condolences go out to her family.
