Introducing: The Juliets

Hailing from the hot-pot of musical genre and artists that is Detroit, Michigan – The Juliets are a band on a mission to encapsulate as many of them as possible.

Utilising orchestral instruments to augment their take on guitar-driven indie-rock, they've been described as 'baroque with backbone' in the past. Pardon the pun, but I feel that resonates well with the band.

Fronted by singer/songwriter Jeremy Freer, the band's orchestral section is made up of cellist Kaylan Mitchell and violinist/vocalist Sarah Myers. Both classically trained, the pair cite influences from Brahms to Dr. Dre in their string arrangements. Bassist Ashton Hopkins and drummer Jaclyn Phillips complete the line-up.

The debut album from The Juliets is expected in late September.
