Xiu Xiu to release 'Always'

It has been an ever so slight wait however we are elated to report that XIU XIU will be back on the main stage of indie obscurity come early 2012.

Following on from 2010’s tumour-humour entitled ‘Dear God, I Hate Myself’, the band are set to release new record ‘Always’ on February 27th through Bella Union records – you can sample their new single ‘Hi’ link“>here. ‘Always’ was produced by Deerhoof's Greg Saunier and mixed by John Congleton (Antony and the Johnsons, Explosions In The Sky, the Roots).

Its remarkable to say aloud but its been over 10 years now that Xiu Xiu have been crafting their art, making uncompromising music and establishing themselves as a cult act with tunes to match. The Glasswerk hacks have yet to ‘sample’ the bands latest effort in its entirety however we’ve been told that its ‘dazzling, innovative’ and finds project-leader Jamie Stewart once again broaching taboo subjects.

Once the new album has been fully sampled and judged, long time Xiu Xiu godhead Stewart will be taking his latest collaborators and hitting the road for a series of close-knit performances – the bands UK tour will take place in March.

Dates below:
Monday 12 March – BRISTOL – The Fleece
Tuesday 13 March – MANCHESTER – The Ruby Lounge
Wednesday 14 March – GLASGOW – The Captain's Rest
Thursday 15 March – BRIGHTON – Sticky Mikes Frog Bar
Friday 16 March – LONDON – Rich Mix
