Capital Sun Release Debut Single

‘Forgotten Songs’ is the self-released debut single from Birmingham’s Capital Sun and will be released on January 30th.

The band’s love of music from the late 60s and early 70s is apparent from the get-go, as the track kicks in over Boden’s powerful vocals. The lyrics hark back to the days where music meant getting a deal and touring the country, a much simpler time before the facebook and twitter era that we have all become accustomed to so quickly.

The track has been produced by Grammy-nominated producer Chris Tsangarides, who had previously worked with the uncle of singer Glen Boden. After having seen Tsangarides’ work on the critically acclaimed film ‘Anvil – The Story of Anvil’, Boden contacted him about producing and mixing the track and was met with a resounding “yes”.

With the band only having formed around a year ago, in the Winter of 2010, it marks the perfect start for the foursome who have been lined up as the support for a date on The Enemy’s upcoming tour and opening for Simon Townshend [brother of The Who’s Pete]. With their work ethic and passion for the music clear for all to see, it’s no surprise that Capital Sun are set to make a splash.

The band will be heading out on the road to support the release and showcase further tracks at the following dates:

January 24th – Camden Eye, London
January 28th – The Rainbow, Birmingham – Single launch
February 6th – The Bedford, Balham
February 29th – The Flapper, Birmingham – supporting Brother & Bones
