The Neil Cowley Trio debut their second video from their new recording, The Face of Mount Molehill. Described by Uncut as a “pulsating Bond theme”, ‘Fable’ bounds along with manic energy.
The quirky video was shot on location in Hackney and Neil’s back garden – a field deep in the surrey countryside – and directed by Jane Gerber, who’s First Love series for Sky Arts (shortlisted for a Royal Television Society Award) featured a moving appearance by Neil assuring comedienne Sue Perkins that the piano “can love you back”.
Released last month to enormous critical acclaim, Cowley + co’s new recording demonstrates it’s not only a silent movie that can remind us you don’t need words to express imagination and emotion, to be joyful, funny and tender.
