Pom Wonderful Presents The Greatest Movie Ever Sold Review

Morgan Spurlock brings his attention to the world of movie advertising in latest documentary feature, interviewing professionals and the public on advertising products within the movies; what it means to them, the varies ways of going about it and how best to secure funding for his own film (yes the pone we are watching) with companies who are willing to take the risk on a documentary feature to have their product exposed to the public eye.

Well it all starts out fairly simply with the idea, or with a reminder of what product placement is and how it has been used in previous films. Spurlock is an affable enough presenter who can deliver facts quick, but you know is never going to go out of his way to make any of his clients feel uncomfortable. This film is perhaps too safe a watch in a world where he must surely have had a confrontation or two and managed to grab it on camera.

But instead it’s more the journey he takes to go about opening up ideas; various methods of approach and the types of advertising he can go for and the doors this then opens for him. It’s never short of informative, but is more documentary-lite for anyone wanting to know the real gritty aspects of how deals are made or failed.

Absolutely anyone interested 9in the subject will enjoy this film. Some of the ideas that Spurlock takes to campaign managers are hilarious – and some even make it through to completion, proving that us the consumer will watch just about anything on the box!
