The Imagineers - Sneaky Pete's
Live Review

The Imagineers – Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh

Not long off the back of a support slot on Kassidy’s recent Scottish tour, Glasgow based band The Imagineers played their own headline gig in Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s.

Kicking off with Hour of Need, the guys produced a tight performance looking and sounding confident. Less is more as far as banter with the crowd goes and they let the songs do all the talking. John the Terror in particular seems to encompass what the Imagineers are all about.

Crammed with brilliant guitar riffs, tight harmonies between Young and Bonnyman, unexpected tempo changes and Young’s distinguishable vocals, all elements emphasise the band’s own authentic sound. Favourites Mariana, Spanish Sands and Fairground made appearances and the gig concluded with fan anthem The Imagineer.

Watching the guys play an early slot in front of a sizeable crowd at last year’s Loopallu Festival showed their early potential, but their quick transition to headline gigs suggests that 2012 definitely has big things in store!
