In case you didn’t know, this coming Saturday is Record Store Day. April 21st 2012 marks the fourth annual celebration of independent record stores and over 200 across the UK will be taking part this year.
There will be special releases from the likes of Twin Atlantic, Garbage and Noel Gallagher and many stores will have live bands playing. Check out the official web site to see what’s on at stores in your area – link
The album chart this week sees Adele back at number one for about the millionth week. And the brilliant Alabama Shakes are straight in at number three with their debut release Boys & Girls, featured right here on Glasswerk. This is a band you should be checking out if you haven’t heard them already.
This week’s new release list is rather a short one. The Ghosts debut album ‘The End’ has been reviewed already and it’s rather good. Others with new material out include Cancer Bats and Spiritualized.
On the singles front things also seem fairly quiet, with the new one from Marina and the Diamonds looking like the pic. There’s a new album to come soon from Marina too.
I’m hoping to have a few interesting interviews up this week. Look out for them, as well as all the latest music news and some new videos too.
