Due for release on May 14th, ‘It All Starts Now’ is the beautifully, enchanting single from Scandinavia’s newest treasure Foreign Slippers, and offers a tantalising glimpse into the world of singer, artist, author, songwriter and ruling deity of Foreign Slippers: Gabi Froden.
An almost softly spoken verse draws her listener in before one of the most uplifting, anthemic choruses of the century compels you to fall in love with this track. Resistance is simply futile. The track is taken from upcoming debut album ‘Farewell To The Old Ghosts’ and effortlessly illustrates Gabi’s unique ability to craft intelligent, heartfelt lyrics with soaring and delicate musicality.
The single also includes a surprising cover – a Swede covering a Swedes – Abba’s “The Winner takes it all.” New album, ‘Farewell to the Old Ghosts’, will be released early this summer on June 25th and is a complex but ultimately uplifting collection of songs.
Outside of Foreign Slippers, Gabi is also a Children’s Book Illustrator, and provides music for Theatre Projects, most recently Laila Diallo’s “Hold Everything Dear” on tour now and soon to be performed at the Royal Opera House.
