fun Announce London Heaven Show

Having upgraded their forthcoming London show from London’s Barfly to XOYO due to popular demand, fun. has announced details of their next London show, which will take place at London’s Heaven on July 9. Their Radio 1 A List single ‘We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monae)’ will release on May 7 and the new album Some Nights will follow on May 21.

It’s been an incredible year for this New York trio. Currently holding the title for this year’s biggest selling US single with ‘We Are Young’ (which has now sold over a staggering 3.3 million copies in the US alone), the track shot to the #1 spot on the Billboard 100, Soundscan Hot Digital Tracks and US iTunes after it’s defining moment on the Chevrolet Chevy Sonic Super Bowl ad and the official video has had over 32 million views on the band’s official YouTube channel. The track is gaining UK radio support across all major stations, with Scott Mills branding it his ‘Big Thing’ a couple of weeks back on his Radio 1 show.

The band’s new album, Some Nights, was released in America this February to critical acclaim, peaking at #1 on the US Rock and Alt Charts, and #3 on the Billboard 200. They graced the cover of Billboard magazine and also landed themselves features in the prestigious Rolling Stone and New York Times.

fun. began in 2008 when the band assembled diverse inspirations into their own irresistible and freewheeling pop songcraft. The band drew immediate attention for their contemporary rethinking of classic 70’s pop, where ornate arrangements and inspired orchestrations meet present-day rock ‘n’ roll. They decided to raise the stakes with Some Nights by teaming with noted producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Drake). The band and Bhasker have worked to evolve the idiosyncratic FUN. sound by marrying their robust melodies with elements of hip-hop.
