News From Fatherson

Fatherson are pleased to announce that live favourite ‘Gone Fission’ has been selected by Radio One’s BBC Introducing to be on their playlist from Monday 30th April.

Selected by their network of forty local and digital BBC Introducing shows producers and DJs, ‘Gone Fission’ will be played on a number of daytime programmes on Radio One throughout the week and highlights BBC Introducing’s policy of “supporting unsigned, undiscovered and under the radar musicians across the BBC with big broadcast and live opportunities”.

Marc Strain : “It’s incredible news and very exciting for us obviously. I’d like to thank Radio One for choosing us. It’s a great opportunity.”

As a follow-up to the band’s second single ‘First Born’, ‘Gone Fission’ (produced by Bruce Rintoul – Twin Atlantic/Ting Tings/We Were Promised Jetpacks) can be downloaded for free exclusively through their Facebook page from Monday 7 May. Sign up at this link – link

It’s more great news in a year which has already seen Fatherson support two of their favourite acts (Frightened Rabbit at HMV’s “Next Big Thing Festival” in Edinburgh and Feeder at the Ironworks in Inverness); be picked up for management by Idlewild’s manager Bruce Craigie; win Best Rock/ Alternative Act at the prestigious Scottish Alternative Music Awards; release their second single on their own label; and play their first hugely successful Scottish headline tour, culminating in a single release show at the Apple Store in Glasgow where they played to a packed shop. Exciting times.

Fatherson will be supporting The Xcerts on their Scottish dates and have four festival appearances confirmed so far. The dates are…

May:

Saturday 5 : BREW AT THE BOG (Bogbain Farm, Inverness)
Wednesday 16 : Glasgow Garage (w. The Xcerts)
