Manchester trio Platnum have released the first single from their forthcoming debut album, Lost In The Music. Now I don’t claim to know a lot about UK garage or bassline. But I do know that Aaron Evers, Michelle McKenna, and Mina Poli have a fresh sound that is bright and spirited.
Solar System has futuristic lyrics that talk about a sound taking over the world, then spreading out through the solar system. No lack of ambition here then. The single was produced by the Black Eyed Peas’ collaborator DJ Poet, a fan of the band, and it will sound great on the dance floor.
There are various remixes of the track on the single, the main one being the Radio Edit. To me this is basically high tempo pop music with a dance beat and a great energy. It’s a feelgood track with some nice synth riffs and is made by the vocal combinations. The three voices weave in and out of the track, with Evers taking the lead, his deep voice coming in early. McKenna and Poli add a great deal with their faster delivery, taking the track forward apace.
If you’re looking for a good party tune with a fast beat and great vocals then this is the song for you.
