May
Thursday 31st – MANCHESTER, Ruby Lounge
The “Harvesting & Visiting” tour brings together two artists described by Jonah as “refugees from hard rock”… which they almost are. Both artists have their roots in full bands. Jonah’s old post-hardcore outfit Far toured the world with the likes of the Deftones and influenced a whole scene of bands from Jimmy Eat World to Thursday along the way; Dave has similarly toured the world with his post-grunge band InMe, though they are still very much active, headlining a sold out Islington Academy in March at the end of a 35-date UK tour. Being out on the road is a way of life for both artists, and both have a particular fascination with the UK. Says Jonah:
“I can't wait to be in the UK again. I've played there more than I have the US in the past bunch of years, for whatever reason. I've made some good friends there and the shows are always that perfect balance between attentive, playful and intense.”
As for Dave his enthusiasm, as anyone who has seen him play live will testify, is infectious. Heading out on tour to celebrate both his own new material, Jonah’s classic material and of course that of one of the greats in Neil Young, is more than enough to inspire his passion for live music:
“I'm over the moon to be playing with such a well respected, passionate artist.
I love touring the UK with just my acoustic guitar but this tour is something different to conventional tours which makes things that much more exciting!
We're 'visiting' some of my favourite places in the UK & will be 'harvesting' some seriously good times.
I'll be playing some Neil Young tunes as well as airing some new material from my upcoming 2nd solo album. I'm also really looking forward to sharing a stage with Jonah & collaborating musically.
Everyone should come along to this celebration of sorts & reap the rewards of supporting live music!”
