Buckinghamshire based rockers YOUNG GUNS are set to release their new single, ‘Dearly Departed’, on June 11th on the Play It Again Sam label. Today, they premiere the accompanying video, shot by Tim Mattia in Los Angeles at the end of last month.
The band, whoreleased their second album, ‘Bones’, in February to critical acclaim, have also recently announced their biggest UK headline tour to date for October, culminating in a headline show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
Speaking of Dearly Departed, frontman Gustav Wood says, “it’s my crooked attempt at a love song, something we'd never really done as a band before. I wanted to write a song about something that could be understood by everyone that heard it, and though the key line may feel quite dark, I liked the intensity and the idea of the line “I want to be the last thing that you see, be my dearly departed. It's a universal feeling however you interpret it, and it sits in a big upbeat summer song. We wrote it with summer festivals in mind and we can't wait to get out there and play it!”
On the live front, the run of Vans Off The Wall Music Night shows presented by Monster, will see the quintet joined by very special guests WE ARE THE IN CROWD, YOUR DEMISE and MARMOZETS, at the following dates:
