New Editor – Mailbag Round Up

Right then, first things first – Glasswerk.co.uk finally has a new Editor. That would be me, so hello and welcome, it's a pleasure to meet you. I've been involved with Glasswerk for a while now as we share an office with the Liverpool branch, so it was a natural step for me to get my grubby hands on the website and force my bizarre and eclectic musical tastes on you all. I've been working in various roles in the “industry” for about 6 years now and have been on both sides of the fence; as a professional touring and recording artist and also as a promoter, artist manager, and ad hoc PR.

As we've been without a site editor for so long we've missed some great physical releases and reviews this year, so I thought I'd do a quick mail-bag round up of the best physicals we've been sent for review that have unfortunately lain forgotten in the office.

Andre & Gildas – Parisien II
This collection of cutting edge French Electro pop from Paris based label Kitsuné Maison practically bleeds cool. This was music made for 4am blurry nights out with friends.

Jim Kroft – The Hermit & The Hedonist
Fans of Divine Comedy will fall head over heels in love with this album from Berlin based songwriter Jim Kroft. Produced by Laura Marling's drummer at Konk studios, this reeks of classy music.

Lightships – Electric Cables
Beautiful Scottish indie folk á la Belle and Sebastian from this promising new band winning support slots with St.Etienne

Francois & The Atlas Mountains – E Volo Love
Frenchman sings in beautiful French voice over spaced out chillwave with a double bass and swimming, dancing backing vocals. What's not to like? Fans of Slow Club will love this.
